GRACE - 18, Lenni’s daughter
Grace is whip smart, funny and self-possessed in that gen z way. She is political and seething
with the righteous indignation of someone who has recently discovered the world is unfair.
Grace, who spent the divorce being Lenni’s quiet pillar of support, has now decided she’s done.
She’s finished high school and is having a gap year. The idea was that she would work for six
months then travel to Europe for six months, then start uni. The problem is, it was Lenni’s plan
and not Grace’s. She will rally against Lenni’s control but also recognise all the work her mother
does for the family.
Notes: Series regular. This role will require options for future series.
POLLY - 12, Lenni’s daughter
Polly is sensitive, easily influenced and still hurting from the divorce. She is also struggling with
puberty - teary, angry, surly. At times she feels invisible and tries to make herself small as a
reaction. There is a lot of attention-seeking behaviour. She idolises her father and misses him in
a way that affects her relationship with Lenni. Desperate for approval, Polly falls in with the
mean girls at school who convince her to do stupid things.
Notes: Series regular. This role will require options for future series.
LEO - 15, Lenni’s nephew
Anne’s (Lenni’s sister) son. Misses his mum. Angry at his father, misplaced grief. Holds his father
responsible but will slowly forgive him.
Has a beautiful relationship with Lenni and his papa, Albert. He plays video games with Albert.
Leo goes to private school (think Newington). His father went there. His father’s father went
there. It’s in stark contrast to Lenni’s public school ethos, but she never criticises and (mostly)
keeps her opinions to herself.
Notes: Series regular. This role will require options for future series.
